Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not at all! Instructions are very simple and easy to follow, like coloring in a coloring book on a larger scale.

  • The time allotted (9am-3pm) is to ensure that attendees with larger sized quilts have enough time to finish. Depending on the size/difficulty of your pattern, you could be finished well before 3pm!

  • For class you will need to bring

    • 1 roll of 1” Yellow Frog Tape or other delicate surface 1” painters tape

    • A lunch and drink for the day

    • Hairdryer (optional but encourage)

    Paint, Brushes, Boards with pattern choice pre-drawn and cutting tools are provided!

  • Your barn quilts can be placed wherever your heart desires; front porch, barn, sheds, garden trellis, the opportunities are endless! Gina would be more than happy to provide placement ideas as well.

  • Yes! Barn quilts can be sealed 1-2 weeks after class to ensure the paint has thoroughly dried. Exterior sealer will be available for purchase at classes for $5. If you would like to purchase sealer outside of class, make sure it is exterior, WATER-BASED. Oil based exterior sealer will cause your barn quilt to yellow overtime.

  • Sizes range from 6”x6” mailbox numbers, to 8’x8’ full size quilts. The image to the right showcases barn quilt size comparisons.
